Sorry for the absence, but between the flu, a project and work, blogging had to be put on the back burner

Iraq

Pay someone a billion dollars to hit Hussein and his devil spawn. The government will save four times that fiscally and countless military and civilian lives.

Highway Trooper

The officer who shot a family dog as he happily wagged his tail should have to shovel shit at the local shelter for the next five years. p u n i t i v e d a m a g e s. Cha ching.

The script is coming along. Write, rewrite.

My niece is getting married and is going to have blackjack tables at the reception. Finally, a reason to attend one of these functions besides the usual obligatory ones.

Snow

We are expecting our first major snow of the season.
Keep in mind major to us is three inches, but I'll take it.

I've stocked up on the essentials:

Makings for chili
Cigarettes
M&M Cookies
Milk
Milk Bones

The dog is already making pseudo snow angels on the freshly vacuumed carpet.

Bring it on!

Writing a screenplay, Part II

No matter how inadequate I feel at times as a writer and with my ability to develop character and prose, I will sleep comfortably tonight knowing that I could not write a script as wretched as Adaptation.

It is Nicholas Cage meets Beloved. Wow.
Writing a screenplay...

I'm at the halfway point of a script.
Is the process making me crazy? Yes
Is the process making my friends crazy? Yes.
Do I know what I'm doing? Sometimes
Have I read every single article on the web about screenwriting? Yes
Do I have a degree in anything? Nope. I'm Sue S, N.F.E.
Will I finish it? Hell yes.
Will it be optioned? Damn well better be.
Does my dog need a job? Definitely.

Rick Sanchez, MSNBC's answer to Ted Baxter.

Forget Reg and Kelly, if you want light, morning fluff delivered by an overgrown manchild, tune into MSNBC following the Imus show.

When the commuter plane crashed this morning, all news stations began airing video from the scene. The camera panned to the smoldering crashsite. Mr.Sanchez after much deliberation finally uttered this gem: I can't be sure, but I, I, I think that is the impact site. Yes, I think that is the impact site. I do believe that's so. It looks like the site of impact. I'm being told by my producer it is indeed the impact site.

Ya think? If not, I'd say you have two breaking stories there big guy.

Last week I sat in disbelief as he repeatedly stumbled over the name of North Korea's dictator. By the afternoon, he had it down pat even stating that "I've been told the pronunciation is important." It reminded me of when Murray bet Ted he couldn't say the name Ideko Kawasaki on the air. He couldn't. It came out: Sawakaki.

Back to you, Ted.
